Edit pages with AI and Edit Mode
Choose between a clear AI request and direct edits to text, images, and links.
Choose the right editing method
Use AI chat for changes to layout, sections, repeated cards, or behavior. Use Edit Mode for supported direct edits, such as changing a sentence, replacing an image, or updating a link. Both methods work on the page you are editing, so check the selected page and language before you begin.
Editing availability depends on your project’s plan and your permissions. If the editor shows an access or plan notice, follow that notice before trying to make changes.
Make a focused AI request
- Open the page in Preview and open AI chat.
- Describe the result you want, the part to change, and anything that must stay the same. For example: “Shorten the heading in the first section to one line. Keep the image, colors, and section order.”
- For a specific element, use Select mode or select it in the page and choose Add to chat. Add a reference image when words alone are not enough.
- Send the request and review any question or approval card that appears. Wait for the work to finish, then inspect the updated preview.
- Test the relevant links or interactions and compare desktop and mobile. Request a focused correction if the result needs adjustment.
Stopping a running request does not necessarily undo changes already applied. Inspect the page after stopping; use version history if you need to restore an earlier result.
Edit supported elements directly
- Turn on Edit Mode in the page preview.
- Click editable text and make your change. The floating toolbar offers the actions supported by the selected element, including text formatting, image replacement, or link editing.
- Choose Save edits to keep your changes, or Discard edits to return to the saved state. Resolve unsaved edits before switching modes or leaving the page.
A CMS-connected field may open its collection item editor through Edit content. A repeated or calculated element may require AI editing rather than a direct text change. If Neopress cannot identify one connected item, open the CMS and edit the source item there.
Check the result before publishing
Read the full section after changing a short phrase: line breaks and button widths may have changed. For shared headers or footers, inspect another page too. Saving page design changes updates your draft; use the publishing screen when you are ready to apply them to the live site. Content edited through a CMS item follows that item’s publishing controls.
