Write, schedule, and publish CMS content

Edit collection items, review saved drafts, and control when each item becomes public.

Open the right collection and language

Use CMS items for content that follows a shared structure, such as blog posts, customer stories, team profiles, or products. An item contains the information; its connected page supplies the design. Confirm the collection and current content language before writing, especially on a multilingual site.

Create and edit an item

  1. Open CMS, select the collection, and create a new item, or open an existing item from the list.
  2. Enter the title and complete the fields defined by the collection. Use the Content field's editor for formatted body text.
  3. Add images and links, select options, and connect reference items such as an author or category where the collection provides those fields.
  4. Review the item's slug and publication date. The slug forms the item-specific part of a connected detail-page URL.
  5. Wait for the save indicator to confirm that the draft is saved. If a save fails, resolve it before leaving or publishing.

Preview the complete page

Use View connected collection detail page when the collection has a detail page. Check the title, body formatting, images, references, and long content in desktop and mobile views. If no detail page is connected, create one when individual items need their own public URLs.

Also inspect the page that lists the items. A good detail page does not guarantee that its card image, excerpt, category, or link looks right in the list.

Publish now or schedule visibility

Choose Publish for a draft item. After editing an already published item, choose Publish changes to replace its public content. Saving edits alone keeps the previously published title, slug, and field content live.

For a scheduled item, set a future Published At date and publish it. Its published content remains hidden from the public site until that date, while you can still preview it. The connected collection and page must already be published for the item to appear when it becomes eligible.

The collection list supports bulk publishing and unpublishing. Review the selected items and their publication dates before confirming. The main Publish changes screen can also include selected CMS items.

Update or remove public content

Unpublish removes an item from public content while keeping it available to edit. Review links or references that depend on it. For recovery, open the item's version history and restore a saved version, then publish the restored content when ready.

Search and social metadata are separate saved settings and may change publicly before the item's body is republished. After publishing, open the live URL and confirm the content and sharing information you intended to release.
