Keep business facts, design guidance, and working documents available for future AI requests.
Keep recurring context in one place
AI can work more consistently when your project has clear business facts and design guidance. Use AI Instructions for information that should guide repeated requests, rather than explaining the same background in every chat.
Separate stable guidance from a one-time task. Your audience, product names, tone, and brand rules belong in project knowledge. A request to change one button today belongs in chat. Updating instructions gives AI new guidance; it does not automatically rewrite existing pages or publish changes.
Update business and design instructions
- Open the AI panel and select AI Instructions.
- Open business.md to review the business brief, or design.md to review the design brief. The available documents depend on the project’s existing setup and your access.
- Edit the document in the workspace. Keep factual claims specific and remove outdated or conflicting instructions.
- Choose Save in the save bar. If you leave with unsaved changes, use the confirmation to return to editing or discard them.
What to include
- Business: your main audience, offer, problems you solve, verified proof, preferred calls to action, and words that must stay unchanged.
- Content: tone, reading level, spelling conventions, approved product names, and claims that require review.
- Design: colors, typography direction, spacing preferences, image style, and useful reference examples with an explanation of what to follow.
For example: “Write for small design agencies. Explain the benefit before the feature. Use ‘Book a consultation’ as the main action. Do not invent customer numbers or testimonials.” This gives AI concrete boundaries it can apply to different pages.
Use Documents for supporting work
The Documents section in AI Instructions holds supporting plans, notes, and working documents. Choose New document, give it a clear title, and add a short description so its purpose is easy to recognize. Save the content after editing.
A document’s Visible to the AI switch controls whether it appears in the AI document list. Turning it off is a discovery setting, not a promise that previously shared information has been erased from conversations. These project documents are separate from public website pages.
Use and maintain the guidance
After saving, make a focused request such as “Use our business and design instructions to improve the services page.” Review the output against your facts and brand rules. Selected context is not proof that every document was read; ask AI to use a particular document when it is essential to the task. Update the relevant instruction whenever your offer or brand changes, then request the corresponding page edits explicitly.
