Create and organize website pages
Add pages, choose clear URLs, and understand the difference between your page list and public navigation.
Choose what the page should do
Use a page for a distinct visitor task, such as learning about a service, finding your location, or contacting your team. If you will repeat the same design for many articles or products, use a CMS collection and a collection detail page instead of creating every page separately.
Before adding a page, decide who it is for, what information it needs, and the action visitors should take. A specific request helps AI create a useful starting point.
Add a page
- Open your project and find Pages in the site editor.
- Choose Add new page. Describe the page and its purpose. For example: “Create a services page with three service summaries, customer examples, and a contact button.”
- Review the proposed page title, path, goal, sections, and style direction. Add reference images or a reference URL when useful, and explain which parts should guide the design.
- Start generation after reviewing the plan. Open the resulting page in Preview and check its content, links, and mobile layout.
Organize your workspace
You can rename pages and use groups to keep the page list manageable. Drag pages to change their order or grouping. These controls organize the editor; they do not by themselves add links to the public header or change a page URL.
To change the visitor navigation, open Common layout or ask AI to update the header and footer links. Check that the link points to the intended page. Shared layout changes can affect several pages, so preview more than one page afterward.
Set a clear page URL
- Open the page’s Settings and edit its page path.
- Use a path beginning with a slash, such as
/services. Avoid spaces, duplicate paths, and language prefixes already reserved by your site. - Save the change, then publish it when ready. A saved path change remains a draft until publishing.
For an existing live page, publishing a path change normally creates a redirect from its old URL. Check the old and new addresses after publishing. Collection detail pages use a pattern such as /articles/[slug]; change the prefix in page settings and the individual item’s slug in the CMS.
Remove a page carefully
Deleting a page removes it from the draft site; publish to apply that deletion publicly. Deleted pages can be restored from version history. Deleting a group also deletes the pages inside it, so use Ungroup when you only want to remove the grouping. After any removal, update navigation links and confirm the remaining pages still lead visitors to the right place.
