Check mobile layouts and manage media
Preview different screen sizes, target mobile changes, and safely reuse uploaded files.
Check more than one screen size
A page can read well on desktop and still have awkward headings, cropped images, or hard-to-tap buttons on a phone. Use the preview controls while editing, then check the live page on the devices your visitors use.
- Open a page in Preview and choose a device size: Desktop, Tablet, Mobile, or a custom width.
- Look for horizontal scrolling, text that overlaps, unclear image crops, crowded navigation, and buttons that are difficult to tap.
- Use Sub view with desktop or mobile preview to compare the other screen alongside your main view. The secondary view is read-only; switch the main view when you want to work in the other size.
Request changes for the right screen
In supported mobile page previews, AI chat shows an edit-scope choice. Mobile only asks AI to apply the requested change to mobile. Include desktop applies the request to both mobile and desktop. Changing the preview size alone is not a substitute for checking this scope.
A useful request is: “On mobile only, stack these three cards vertically and reduce the space above the heading. Keep the desktop arrangement.” After AI finishes, inspect both views and test any affected menu or button. The result still needs your review before publishing.
Keep shared styles consistent
Open Design system for the site-wide colors, fonts, corners, and layout values your site uses. Save a change and check its effect across pages. A value affects elements connected to it; adding a new color does not automatically repaint existing pages. Use the usage view or ask AI to apply the setting where needed. Publish shared style changes with the common layout when ready.
Upload and reuse media
- Open Assets and choose Upload files, or drag files into the media library. The library accepts files up to 10 MB each.
- Use search, type filters, or sorting to find the file. Open its details to check the name, file size, image dimensions, alt text, and description.
- Use the file in an image field, choose it where an asset picker is available, or ask AI to place the selected asset on a page. Give a placement and purpose, such as “Use this photo above the team introduction.”
- Review the actual page to confirm the crop, loading, text description, and link behavior.
Direct image replacement in Edit Mode supports an image URL or a file upload. Uploading an asset to the library does not automatically replace every image on the website.
Clean up without breaking published pages
Asset details can show where a file is used in page drafts and CMS content. This check does not cover published page versions or every possible external use. “No uses found” therefore does not prove a file is safe to delete.
Before deleting, replace any live uses and check download links as well as images. File deletion cannot be undone in the media library. Keep original files elsewhere when you may need them again.
