Create your first website

Choose a template or AI starting point, set your website language and address, and review your first draft.

Before you begin

Prepare your business name, the audience you want to reach, the action visitors should take, and any logo, copy, or design references you can use. A short description is enough to begin; you can improve the content after the first draft.

1. Choose how to start

From the project dashboard, start a new website. You can choose a template, or choose Start without a template to generate with AI or import an existing page. A template provides a starting design and content structure; replace its example content with information that accurately describes your business.

Import an existing page takes the one URL you provide as a starting point. It is not an automatic transfer of every page, blog post, account, or integration on the original website.

2. Set the name, address, and language

Enter the website name and review its default address. The address name uses 3–40 lowercase English letters, numbers, or hyphens and cannot start or end with a hyphen. It must be available. The resulting default address uses your-name.neopress.app.

The address name cannot be changed after creation. You can connect your own domain later. Choose the initial website language carefully: the default language is set at creation and cannot later be changed in language settings. Additional website languages require Growth.

3. Review the AI plan and design direction

When generating with AI, describe your website, add relevant reference material, and review the planning draft. Correct the audience, required pages, main offer, and contact action before continuing. Select the available design reference option and check the pages proposed for generation.

For example: “Create a service website for a design studio. Visitors should request a consultation. Include services, selected work, an about page, and a contact form. Use the supplied logo and approved project descriptions.”

4. Check the first result

  1. Review every generated page and replace sample names, claims, and contact details.
  2. Check the desktop and mobile previews.
  3. Test navigation, buttons, images, and form placement.
  4. Confirm which content is a page and which belongs in a collection.
  5. Use AI chat or direct editing for focused corrections.

5. Publish the reviewed changes

Open Publish changes, review the selected items, and publish when ready. Content entries have their own publication state, so confirm that both the page design and required content are included. Finally, open the public address to check the result outside the editor.

If you reach a site creation allowance or AI usage limit, follow the options displayed for your account. Deleting a site does not restore a used free creation slot.
